Disclaimer: This is not meant to be a pro obama or pro mccain post. While the video is in favor of obama, my intention was to prove a point regardless of who I am choosing to vote for. The most important part of this video I believe comes at about the 4:30 mark. As voters we have the right and responsibility to critique and research candidates to decide which we think is best fit for the job. Too often we let the media and the candidates themselves wage war on morals and "who loves the country more" talk. When I listen to people discuss who they are going to vote for it seems that too rarely are they actually discussing policies, but are simply repeating what they have heard on television; Obama is a terrorist or equate McCain to Bush. It's ridiculous...we are smarter than that, give yourself more credit. I feel they each have a deep love for this country and trust that they both have upstanding values. I hope that each of you will be responsible voters and look at the candidates policies on health care, Iraq, the economy, energy and so on, and decide for yourself which one will best carry them out. This is the actual difference between the candidates, not whose moral fiber is thickest. The fact that we even have this opportunity is the beauty of democracy, please take advantage of this freedom.
